TJ Lappley
TJ Lappley is a Clinical Intern pursuing a Master of Counseling at Mount Mary University. They are passionate about helping individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered as they navigate life's challenges. TJ believes that every person deserves a therapeutic space where they can show up authentically and be met with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
Prior to joining Therayology, TJ gained valuable experience working with crisis response teams, supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health crises. This experience strengthened their skills in crisis intervention, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed care while reinforcing the importance of meeting clients with empathy during some of their most difficult moments.
TJ has a special interest in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, providing gender-affirming and LGBTQ+-affirming care, and supporting young adults as they navigate identity development, relationships, life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, and self-discovery. They are committed to creating an inclusive, culturally responsive environment where clients feel safe, valued, and accepted for who they are.
TJ's therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and person-centered. They believe that healing happens through genuine connection and work alongside clients to build resilience, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
As a Clinical Intern at Therayology, TJ provides therapy under the supervision of a licensed mental health professional while completing their graduate clinical training.
