I am a compassionate and dedicated therapist committed to helping individuals find healing, growth, and a deeper understanding of themselves. I bring specialized training and a genuine passion for working with youth, neurodivergent individuals, and the LGBTQ+ community.
My approach is integrative and tailored to your unique needs. I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, a powerful and effective therapy for processing trauma and difficult life experiences that can often contribute to anxiety, depression, and other challenges. EMDR can help you reprocess distressing memories and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
In addition to EMDR, I utilize a variety of evidence-based techniques to support your well-being, including:
- Person-Centered Therapy: You are the expert on your own life, and I strive to create a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment where you feel truly heard and understood.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): We can explore the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to identify and modify unhelpful patterns.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)-informed skills: increase psychological flexibility – the ability to be present, open to experience (both pleasant and unpleasant), and to act in ways that are consistent with one's values.
I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and autism spectrum disorder. I offer a neurodiversity-affirming approach that respects individual differences and celebrates neurocognitive strengths. I can help you navigate social interactions, sensory sensitivities, executive functioning difficulties, and emotional regulation in a way that honors your authentic self.
Furthermore, I am a proud ally and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. I provide a safe and affirming space for young people to explore their identities, navigate coming out processes, address experiences of discrimination or prejudice, and build resilience.
I believe that everyone has the capacity for healing and growth. If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and create meaningful change in your life, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute phone consultation. Let's explore how I can support you in building a brighter future.
*I often work with people in non-monogamous relationships and offer kink-affirming services.
My supervisor is Cynthia Franzolin, LPC.
